These two documents above explain what must be included for a child in Year 2 or Year 3 to be marked as working below, at or above age expectations. Whenever an extended writing piece is done the children's work is marked against this criteria.
Handwriting
In Year 2 all children working at age related must have all letters formed correctly, facing the right way, sitting on the line and capitals are larger than lowercase letters. For a child to be a greater depth writer in Year 2 they must be beginning to join.
Children in Year 3 need to have joined up writing to be marked as working at age related expectations.
