Part-time Teaching Assistant, 19.5 hours per week, term-time only. Days of work to be negotiated.

If an applicant also has a Level 5 PE qualification, there may also be an opportunity to teach PE during PPA release time at an HLTA rate.

Salary: National Joint Pay Scale: Level 2 point 5/6

Contract type: part-time, 19. 5 hours, 2 full days and 2 mornings (to be agreed) term-time only.

Reporting to: Class Teacher and Headteacher

Responsible for: Supporting pupils in the classroom as well as small group intervention work.

 

We are seeking a flexible, motivated TA who is enthusiastic, creative and able to join our small, friendly school from 1st May 2025. The TA will initially be supporting Y1/Y2 pupils in the classroom as well as for small group intervention work. TAs are allocated to support classes as required, and therefore there may be an opportunity to work with other year groups from September 2025.

This will be a part-time post, ideally working for 2 full days and 2 mornings (with days to be discussed at interview).

 

We are looking for a TA who:

  • is committed to raising achievement for all of our pupils
  • is able to build positive relationships with pupils, promoting high self-esteem and independence
  • can adapt their communication style to respond to pupils according to their individual needs
  • can support pupils with their social, emotional and mental health needs, escalating concerns where appropriate
  • promotes high standards of behaviour, responding to incidents in line with the school’s behaviour policy and guidelines on physical intervention
  • can work collaboratively with staff, parents/carers
  • will assist with playtime and lunchtime supervision
  • will work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education, Prevent) and our safeguarding and child protection policies
  • will promote the safeguarding of all pupils in the school
