Welcome to the summer term in Swallow Class!
I’m really looking forward to welcoming the children back as we begin the summer term. We have lots of exciting learning planned, with plenty of opportunities for creativity and the chance to take our learning outside as the weather warms up.
This half term we’ll be learning about plants in science, exploring how each part helps them to survive and what they need to grow. In history, we’ll be studying Roman Britain, including why the Romans invaded and the impact they had on life in Britain. In art, we’ll be developing our creativity through The Art of Display, experimenting with how artwork is presented and how this can change the way it is understood. We are really looking forward to our upcoming visit to Wimpole Estate, with the chance to see lambing in action - fingers crossed for good weather and cooperative sheep!
For full details of what we’ll be studying this half term, please see the Curriculum Overview at the bottom of the page.
PE days this half term will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays. On these days, children should come to school in their PE kits. This should be a white T-shirt, black or navy shorts or joggers (depending on the weather), and their school sweatshirt or fleece. Long hair should be tied back and earrings removed. Please keep non-school uniform sportswear at home for clubs and weekends.
Please make sure your child brings a named water bottle to school each day - learning is thirsty work! They will also need a healthy snack from home. And, to help lost items find their way home, please label everything: uniform, snack pots and water bottles included.
