Welcome to a new year in Swallow Class!
I hope you have all had a wonderful summer and are feeling refreshed and ready for an exciting year ahead. I am really looking forward to welcoming everyone back and beginning our new year together!
We have a busy and exciting first half term ahead! In science, we will be exploring electricity and getting hands-on with building circuits. In geography, we will be travelling to the Mediterranean, using our geographical skills to explore Italy and discover what life is like there. In art, we will be getting creative with charcoal, experimenting with bold marks, movement and large-scale drawing. There is lots to look forward to and I can’t wait to get started!
For full details of what we’ll be studying this half term, please see the Curriculum Overview at the bottom of the page.
PE days this half term will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays. On these days, children should come to school in their PE kits. This should be a white T-shirt, black or navy shorts or joggers (depending on the weather), and their school sweatshirt or fleece. Long hair should be tied back and earrings removed. Please keep non-school uniform sportswear at home for clubs and weekends.
Please make sure your child brings a named water bottle to school each day - learning is thirsty work! They will also need a healthy snack from home. And, to help lost items find their way home, please label everything: uniform, snack pots and water bottles included.
