In our Voluntary Aided school, Collective Worship is of a broadly Christian character and takes into account the practices and teachings of the Church of England. We normally base our worship on the teachings of Christ and traditions of the Christian Church. However, we conduct them in a manner that is sensitive to the individual faith and beliefs or non-beliefs of all members of the school.
Collective Worship is an integral part of our school life and is organised as follows:
Monday | Whole school worship, centred around a focus value | Headteacher |
Tuesday | Choral worship | Headteacher |
Wednesday | Whole school worship at St Peter's Church | member of the local clergy |
Thursday | Class-based worship developing the theme or value introduced in Collective Worship on Monday | Class Teacher |
Friday | Whole school celebration, welcoming family and friends from our local community | Headteacher |
Parents have the right to withdraw their child from Collective Worship and are not required to provide a reason for doing so.
Please see the following documents outlining our policy, themes and an example of Collective Worship. Additional information is available on the following pages Home/School Collective Worship Themes and Values and Values Theological Background
