Owl Y6

Welcome to the second part of the summer term! We've got a busy and exciting term ahead of us. Preparations for our end of the school year production Treachery at Traitors' Quay are underway. Swimming will take place in one of our PE slots and our trip to Bawdsey Manor - PGL is just a week away! Be sure to look at the Curriculum Overview document down below this section, as this will inform parents and carers of all the curriculum areas to be covered this term.

Owl class swimming day will be on Thursdays. Below, there is a remainder of the full swimming kit:

  • Swimming bag
  • Swimming costume (one piece for girls, please)
  • Towel
  • Outdoor shoes to wear from the classroom to the pool area that can get wet (e.g. flip-flops, crocs).
  • Goggles are allowed, but the child must be able to put them on by themselves.

Children will need to bring their swimming things to school and wear their PE kits to school on swimming days. Please ensure that everything is named, including towels and goggles!

Our second PE slot will be Fridays. Please, ensure that your child consistently wears a suitable school uniform or a PE kit on PE days. As a reminder, this should be a white t-shirt, black or navy shorts/joggers (weather dependent), and their school sweatshirt or fleece. Long hair should be tied up, and earrings should be covered or removed on these days.

Please do not send children in non-school uniform/club sportswear on PE days.

As the weather looks to get warmer, please ensure your child has suitable sun protection in school every day, including a named hat and named sun cream, and brings a bottle of water to school every day.

Staff in Owl Class:

Mr Pastor - Class Teacher, Monday - Friday
Mrs Mcneil – PPA cover

As part of our revision and preparations for SATs, this half-term the children in Owl class will continue working on their CGP books. For more information about the process, please check the CGP books section in the Home Learning Resources page.
