Owl Y5/Y6

Welcome back to Owl class and to the beginning of new academic year! I hope everyone enjoyed a restful break. I am looking forward to welcoming everyone into Owl class. The autumn term is such a busy and exciting term in Owl class. In History, we will explore the ancient Maya Civilisation and in science we'll observe and experiment with light – many activities to enjoy and much learning to be doneBe sure to look at the Curriculum Overview document down below this section, as this will inform parents and carers of all the curriculum areas to be covered this term.

And as a nice change, Owl class will be swimming in the Autumn term (Wednesdays from the 16th September to the 25th November). Below, there is a remainder of the full swimming kit:

  • Swimming bag
  • Swimming costume (one piece for girls, please)
  • Towel
  • Pool footwear (e.g. flip-flops, crocs).
  • Goggles

Owl class will leave school at 1pm and travel via coach. Half of the class will swim from 1:30-2pm and the other half will swim from 2-2:30pm. The Children will need to bring their swimming bags to school and wear their PE kits to school on swimming days. Please ensure that everything is named, including towels and goggles!

Our second PE slot will be Mondays. Please, ensure that your child consistently wears a suitable school uniform or a PE kit on PE days. As a reminder, this should be a white t-shirt, black or navy shorts/joggers (weather dependent), and their school sweatshirt or fleece. Long hair should be tied up, and earrings should be covered or removed on these days.

Please do not send children in non-school uniform/club sportswear on PE days.
