Swallow Y3/Y4

Swallow Class

Welcome to the final half term in Swallow Class!

I can hardly believe we are heading into our final half term! We have another busy and exciting few weeks ahead, with plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning, creativity and making the most of the summer weather.

This half term, we will continue our science learning about plants, taking part in some exciting growing projects and observing how plants develop over time. In geography, we will be exploring mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes, discovering how these dramatic features shape our world. In art, we will be designing and creating our own 3D gallery spaces, building on our previous learning about how artwork is displayed and presented. We will also be learning about the Hindu story of Rama and Sita in RWE and exploring how it inspires many Hindus to follow their dharma, or duty. As always, there is lots to look forward to and I am excited to see the children’s enthusiasm and curiosity as we head towards the end of the school year.

For full details of what we’ll be studying this half term, please see the Curriculum Overview at the bottom of the page.

PE days this half term will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On these days, children should come to school in their PE kits. This should be a white T-shirt, black or navy shorts or joggers (depending on the weather), and their school sweatshirt or fleece. Long hair should be tied back and earrings removed. Please keep non-school uniform sportswear at home for clubs and weekends. Your child will need their swimming kit on Tuesdays - please see the Parent Mail about what to bring, including a change of shoes for poolside!

Please make sure your child brings a named water bottle to school each day - learning is thirsty work! They will also need a healthy snack from home. And, to help lost items find their way home, please label everything: uniform, snack pots and water bottles included.
