Parking

As the new term gets underway, please may we remind you to be considerate when parking before school. We ask that you park your car before dropping your children outside the school gate in School Lane.

Parking in the High Street and walking through Church Lane may be an option. This morning one parent reported that several parents had stopped to drop the children and this was causing a danger to those walking past. Also a brief reminder to ask you not to park in the turning space.

We have been accepted on to the Safer Routes to School Scheme and will be working with the County Road Safety Dept to improve parking outside the school.

Play Space Evaluation

We have received the following message from the County Play Strategy Project Officer:

As you may or may not be aware, Cambridgeshire County Council has recently been running the Cambridgeshire Play Pathfinder project to develop and redevelop children's play areas across the County.

The play space local to you [at Barton Recreation Ground] was one of the 33 sites fortunate enough to be transformed through the Pathfinder project's funding and the hard work of the local community.

A priority in evaluating the sites is to establish the views and opinions of the children and young people using the play spaces - those for whom this project has been for.

Children & Young Persons Survey & Competition

The County Council have compiled an online survey and competition for children and young people (17 years and younger) to complete, with three prizes of £50 worth of vouchers to be won.

The survey can be accessed via: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NBFLKW7

Parents & Adults Survey

In addition we will be looking to find out the opinions of the play space from parents and other adults (18 years and above) in the community from another online survey.

There will be one further prize of £50 worth of vouchers to be won: http://forms.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/customer/servlet/ep.app?type=393278&ut=x

Both surveys are available in paper format on request.

Please contact Ashley List, County Play Strategy Project Officer at the earliest opportunity by email at ashley.list@cambridgeshire.gov.uk should you have any queries with regards the survey, the evaluation or the project.

There will also be an introductory talk by Sally Elding from the ICT Service about STARZ, Cambridgeshire's ICT Learning Platform that we use in school, which children can access from home to support their learning.
