How Are You? - Class 2

Over the next six weeks Class 2 will be following a unit of work on a theme which focuses on 'How are you?'.

In History, we'll be:

• Finding out about some of the people who made discoveries that helped people to fight disease
• Finding about diseases that were common in the past

In ICT, we'll be:

• Using the Internet to find out about health problems across the world
• Collecting data about illnesses and using the computer to sort it

In Science, we'll be:

• Learning that animals, including humans, grow and reproduce
• Using ideas about feeding and growth to learn about ways we need to look after ourselves to stay healthy

In RE, we'll be:

• Visiting a church, recognising Christian places of worship and looking at artefacts from Christianity
• Thinking about Harvest

In PE, we'll be:

• Throwing, Catching and Striking a variety of balls
• Dribbling, Kicking and Receiving different balls

In Art, we'll be:

• Using pencils and paint to make portraits and self portraits, looking at skin and eye colour
• Using collage to create a typical healthy meal

If your child has some work to research, please help them - but without actually doing the work! If you have the chance to further their interest in the ideas of this theme please take it - but your enthusiasm and interest is most important.
